The biggest fashion event of the year is here, and our Bollywood beauties made heads turn in their outrageous but very on theme outfits they wore at the MET gala dinner held in New York today
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Benefit dinner (MET gala) took over New York and the world today morning, the theme this year being ‘Camp: notes on fashion’ which is a rendition of an essay written by Susan Sontag, an American writer, filmmaker and political activist. While we still are a little hazy on the meaning of the theme (we might need to read the essay), the overall look at the gala event was all about over the top drag meet chic vibes.

Priyanka Chopra pulled out all the stops when she walked in a custom Dior along with husband Nick Jonas. The drama of the outfit matched Priyanka’s general vibe, the silver textured dress with a cage detailed bodice with a feathered skirt with a colorful ombre situation. Sticking to her love for trains at the MET, Priyanka’s Dior outfit too had a matching cape.

The hair and makeup reminded us of the character 'queen of hearts' from the film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. The sexy ice princess look was taken levels up with her white eye makeup and a bindi!
This MET gala event is special for our desi girl for two reasons, she met her now husband Nick when they first walked together in 2017, and she is on the benefit committee this year.

Embroidery
The custom made pink gown boasted of more than 400 3D printed pieces, meant to resemble embroidery. The elaborate gown is a push up from the simpler gowns she wore the previous years.

The puffed ponytail with a headband matched her ear danglers and the dark lip added extra drama to the whole look.
Isha Ambani
Isha Ambani also made her way through the crowd representing the east in her dreamy lilac gown by Prabal Gurung. The heiress to the biggest brand in the country is not a new face on the MET carpet, her dreamy look this time featured a voluminous skirt with hand embroidered feathers and bead work. Keeping with the romantic Disney princess look, her hair was let loose in soft curls tied in a half updo.
